WHITE SHIRT

“Wanted, wanted: Dolores Haze.
Hair: brown. Lips: scarlet.
Age: five thousand three hundred days.
Profession: none, or "starlet"

Where are you riding, Dolores Haze?
What make is the magic carpet?
Is a Cream Sugar the present craze?
And where are you parked, my car pet?

Who is your hero, Dolores Haze?
Still one of those blue-capped star-men?
Oh the balmy days and the palmy bays,
And the cars, and the bars, my Carmen!

Oh Dolores, that juke-box hurts!
Are you still dancin', darlin'?
(Both in worn levis, both in white shirts,
And I, in my corner, snarlin').

Officer, officer, there they go--
In the rain, where that lighted store is!
And her shirt are white, and I love her so,
And her name is Haze, Dolores
Vladimir Nabokov , Lolita

Oh, how I love the rhymes written by Vladimir Nabokov. Buy the way I change some of words in order to make the language accepted by the readers of this blog, like cougar to sugar. I hope Vladimir Nabokov does not mind I change his Lolita.

So, here I am, in a lovely vintage look alike white shirt. A nice white shirt that a girl absolutely must have in their closet. It's not a secret that a nice white shirt could instantly lift your appearance with a good combination of pants or shoes. And as I'm covering my head, a nice ehite shirt also easily mixed and match with a plain or pattern scarf. You will never get wrong when investing your money in a nice white shirt.

IT HURTS, BUT I GOT SOMETHING

My right leg got hurt three days ago. I don't know why, when I wake up in the morning and walking, and then I feel strange witha  little bit hurt at my right leg. So, every step I made with my right leg, I feel something strain near my behind ankle. The only possibility that I got is maybe it is caused by my long distance walking three days ago. And I'm the type of person who can't walk slowly, I walk fastly, most of my friends always ask me to slow dow when walking with them. But I don't remember if I did something like twisting, slip, or what. Mom said maybe I ever had something like twist or slip, but there is not really made bad impact, but what I got today is accumulation of all small twist or slip that I ever had. I think I'm going to find an appropriate yet fashionable shoes for a long distance walk. Any suggestion, Guys?

The owner, of my boarding house brought me to a traditional massage place yesterday. She said this place is really famous here in Jakarta. The name of the place is Haji Naim. The unique things about this place are they are so Betawi (indigenous people of Jakarta), and the house they used is still the original architecture of traditional house of Betawi people. And you still can pay them as you want, there is no rate to pay them, so it's depend on you. And when I arrived there, there are so many people already waiting to get massage.

After getting massage, I got souvenir on my ankle. Hehheh. That thing is a reminder for me not to run, walk slowly, and to keep my ankle does not move too much. I can open it after 3 days. And then I also got a piece of paper about foods not to eat for a while, like chicken, squid, durian, pineapple, instant noodle, etc.

Actually I feel sad getting my leg hurts like this because I have so many things to do outside. Like check an IELTS course, go to my photography school, give clothes to the flood victim, help my friend teaching in the kindergarten (ah... I miss those children), and so many others things to do. But yeah, maybe God wants me to stay at my room more, and the result is not bad. I can finish some books that I always postpone to read, and drawing too, and also doing blog walking. Yeaaaah! It's not that bad for stay at room. It hurts, but I got something ;)

By the way, the farewell party of my photography school is held soon, this Saturday, and I really wanna go to the farewell party, and help my friends to decorate my school today. Wish me luck and a better health, Lads! Thank you.

Here I take some picture of me and the souvenir I got on my ankle after getting the massage.

CHOCOLATE BANANA FRITTERS

Maybe almost all the people in Indonesia or even in the world know that currently there is a huge amount of raindrops in Jakarta and caused flood. But I don't wanna talk much abouth the flood happen, because the most important is action not just saying.

Since the flood tragedy happened, I stay at my boarding house almost every day, I just went far from my boarding house once, it was 2 days ago because I need to help my friends to teach a class in a kindergarten. In the mean time, I just stay at my boarding house and maximizing my activities indoor. Seeing the sunshine is such a magic time for me, even just for a while, because the rest of the current days is dark and grey.

Mom asks me to go back to my hometown, because all my family getting worries about me. Alhamdulillah, there is not flood inside the area of where my boarding house is. At the first day of the flood tragedy, I always keep watching to the outside of my boarding house from my room, just in case I need to pack my things and move to the second floor. But again Alhamdulillah the area of my boarding house is just okay. But yeah I heard that on January 27th, there will be huge amount of sea water climbing to the Jakarta land caused by the tide water from the sea, and it is potentially drown the Jakarta land. And yeah, all I can do is just keep aware, keep praying, and keep healthy.

Maybe you ask why I still here and not just simply going back to my hometown to escape, but I'm waiting for a comprehension examination. Actually it will be held by January 19th, 2013 but yes, because of the flood and some other reason such as late data from lecturer caused by flood made my department have to postpone the examination. And until today there is no certainty about when the examination will be held.

And guess what, I'm doing some experiment with bananas. I made chocolate banana fritters or in Bahasa Indonesia called "Pisang Goreng Cokelat". I never doing or eat chocolate banana fritters before, but I got the idea from my dream. Heheh. In my dream, I'm going to my photography school; Kelas Pagi Jakarta, but when I wanna going back home someone stop me and said that she has chocolate banana fritters for me  but then I woke up before tasting that chocolate banana fritters. And then I just simply bought "kepok" bananas at the traditional market near my of boarding house, filled it chocolate, and fried it with flour. I think, this chocolate banana fritters suits the rainy season very well. Here is the recipe of my chocolate banana fritters:

Chocolate Banana Fritters

Ingredients:
  • Kepok bananas (pisang kepok). I used 6 bananas.
  • Chocolate bars, chopped. I used dark chocolate for only 1/2 bar.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour.
  • 1 chicken egg,
  • 1 light table spoon butter
  • Salt (as you want)
  • Half cup of water.
Directions:
  • Peel the bananas, and make a slice in the middle of the banana to put the chopped chocolate inside.
  • Mix egg, flour, salt, and butter. Add water until you get the right textures of the floor dough.
  • Heat the plant oil, fry the banana after rolled with the floor dough.
  • Fry the banana until it looks yellow and gold colors.
  • Dry the chocolate banana fritters, or you can put them on a tissue to absorb the oil.
  • And your chocolate banana fritters are ready to serve.
Just so you know, I was failed at my first try, the chocolate melting outside the bananas when I fried them. And here is my second try, I am glad I did it! Yeeaaaayyy! Hope you like it, and I would love to read your experience if you are trying to make it at home :)

SINGLE HAPPY?

“It’s probably not just by chance that I’m alone. It would be very hard for a man to live with me, unless he’s terribly strong. And if he’s stronger than I, I’m the one who can’t live with him. … I’m neither smart nor stupid, but I don’t think I’m a run-of-the-mill person. I’ve been in business without being a businesswoman, I’ve loved without being a woman made only for love. The two men I’ve loved, I think, will remember me, on earth or in heaven, because men always remember a woman who caused them concern and uneasiness. I’ve done my best, in regard to people and to life, without precepts, but with a taste for justice.”

single

Pronunciation: /ˈsɪŋg(ə)l/

Definition of single based on Oxford Dictionaries.
adjective
  • 1 [attributive] only one; not one of several.
  • 2unmarried or not involved in a stable sexual relationship.
  • 3 [attributive] consisting of one part.
  • 4 archaic free from duplicity or deceit; ingenuous.
noun
  • 1an individual person or thing rather than part of a pair or a group.
  • 2a play that scores one point, in particular.
  • 3 (singles) (especially in tennis and badminton) a game or competition for individual players, not pairs or teams.
  • 4 (usually singlesBell-ringing a system of change-ringing in which one pair of bells changes places at each round.

    happy

    Pronunciation: /ˈhapi/
Definition of happy based on Oxford Dictionaries.
    • 1feeling or showing pleasure or contentment; having a sense of trust and confidence in (a person,   arrangement, or situation); satisfied with the quality or standard of.
    • 2 [attributive] fortunate and convenient
    • 3 [in combination] informal inclined to use a specified thing excessively or at random

So many people feels okay with being single, while others become "galau" to the max a.k.a unstable when being single. Some of them feels happy, while others still questioning their destiny of being single. Which one are you?

And sometimes being single is a choice for some people with some reason. Some people decided being single a whole their life, while others feel okay with being single because they just don't wanna in hurry in choosing partener. It can be because they think they are strong enough, or maybe because they don't believe in partner, or because they can decide whatever they want, while others reason is because they know being single means God having the best partner for them somewhere in heaven or what, and so many others reason of being single.

So here's some of my photography dedicated for all single (single happy, single happy?, taken but single, single but not alone, and so many single types in the world). I collect some photos related to the single happy? theme. And for those who already taken, you can joint, if you want. Heheh.

Enjoy!

RETROSPECTION BY UP2DATE

Hello.
I am fall in love with the current 2013 collection of a moslem fashion house, Up2Date. I think Up2Date successfully bring fresh air to moslem fashion style of 2013 with its 60 collection showed January 8th, 2013 at Mulia Hotel, Jakarta. The theme of her collection was "Retrospection", that inspired much by 50's - 60's era. I love the way she divided her collection into 4 sequences at their Retrespection fashion show, that is: Ocean Motion, Country Retreat, Femme Valiant, and Luxury Looks.

Ocean Motion is more about nautical pattern, while Country Retreat reminds the audiences with the atmosphere of 50's country. And then Femme Valiant showed brave and bold character of a woman, while Luxury Looks showed party outfits at 60's era. My most favourite is the colured used by Up2Date at their Retrospection theme since I can't help myself when seeing "earth colours", brown, red, and dark blue which are so vintage and nice to see. And oh this time Up2Date used linen and cotton much for their collection, rather than their usual jersey and spandex materials.

Here are the collection:

Retrospection by Up2Date - Ocean Motion

Retrospection by Up2Date - Country Retreat

Retrospection by Up2Date - Femme Valiant

Retrospection by Up2Date - Luxury Looks

For me Up2Date Retrospection collection is such a huge inspiration for my 2013 style. What about you?

PANTI ASUHAN ANAK MENTAWAI

Hello.

And if I have additional time, saya akan men-translate beberapa kalimat untuk diceritakan dalam bahasa Inggris. Selamat menikmati.

And I just wanna let you know that I think I'm going to held a blog giveaway when my blog hits 500 of its "Lovely People" aka follower. Now this blog has 497 Lovely People. HIGH SCHOOL BEST FRIENDS

Having so much fun with my senior high school best friends. That day we went to watch movies, 5cm and The Hobbit 3D. My favourite was The Hobbit. It was so cool! While 5 cm I just love the scenery and Pevita Pearce pants. Oh, I really want her pants while climbing the mountain. Do you guys know where I can find the pants?

We had dinner at Jala-Jala, my favourite food was the dessert I tried there, it was "durian" pancake. Super yummy with real durian inside the pancake. Oh I will definetely have to visit Jala-Jala again. Falling in love with their durian pancake at the first try.

I went home happily that night.
